1 Timothy 2:4-6 A Ransom for all Nov. 5th 2000
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
The need:
Men are lost. This is a great need. A tremendous need.
To be lost is to be going to hell.
Why are men lost?
They are sinners.
Rebels to the Law of God as given to Moses.
Exodus 20:3-4, 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exodus 20:7-17, 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13 Thou shalt not kill. 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15 Thou shalt not steal. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
You have a big problem.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die…
Because of that great need:
God has a great desire:
v.4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
What about the drunk? Who will have all men to be saved
What about the sodomite? Who will have all men to be saved
What about the man in the Jungle? Who will have all men to be saved
What about the Jews? Who will have all men to be saved
What about the Gentiles? Who will have all men to be saved
What about the religious? Who will have all men to be saved
Satanists? Who will have all men to be saved
Witches? Who will have all men to be saved
God wants you to go to heaven more than you want to go to Heaven!!!
How can you be saved???
come unto the knowledge of the truth.
This Book is the truth!
Jesus said THY WORD IS TRUTH!
THAT’S THE WRITTEN WORD….
You can not have eternal life apart from this Book.
You’ll never know God ‘’’’
You’ll never know forgiveness ‘’’
You’ll never know about sin ‘’’
You’ll never know your need ‘’’
You’ll never know there is a Heaven ‘’’
You’ll never know eternal life ‘’’
That’s the written WORD.
There is also the LIVING Word:
John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus said, John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Word of God is Truth and Jesus said He was the Truth.
What is the Truth as it relates to salvation and eternal life?
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
The time to testify of this is Right NOW!!!!!!!
A Ransom for all!
A ransom for you.
You owed God your life! (The soul that sinneth it shall DIE!)
But Jesus paid it all with HIS LIFE.
(Don’t let the devil lie to you about Jesus being a good teacher -without this ransom He was a false teacher and a heretic!)
How is this way mediated?
How does this ransom become good concerning your debt?
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
