Redeeming the Time                                                             August 24, 2003

Ephes. 5:16,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

We have a

Redeemer:

Job 19:25,

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Job had a Redeemer. We have a Redeemer. He is alive: He liveth!

(expand on the gospel, the resurrection and the Lord coming to this earth to set up His Kingdom)

The Lord is coming soon. The days are short.

I know the Lord will return soon because of the signs of the times. The Lord spoke of two events that would mark the last days: the days of Noah (business as usual) and the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.

By the way I believe that all the fires that are burning in B.C., as we speak, are the judgement of God on that province for allowing same sex marriages.

Redemption:

Romans 3:24,

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Freely, freely, freely! Freely ye have received, freely give.

Hebrews 9:12,

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Ephes. 1:7,

    In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Ephes. 4:30,

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (that is security)

    Luke 21:28,

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

We are:

Redeemed:

Galatians 3:13,

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

    Rev. 5:9,

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; (now we must go to these)

(we must also understand that we belong to God alone)

Isaiah 43:1b,

Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 44:22,

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

(God has blotted out our transgressions, we need to return to Him)

God is challenging us to return, to return in a definite way. I believe some of you need to get rid of your TV sets. I believe some of you need to trash some of your ungodly music, your video games, trash some questionable (did I say questionable? –I mean sinful!) erase some files off your computers, get a filter for your computer to keep the porn out.

God wants us return to Him from those things that are sinful and wrong!

Redeeming the Time:

We all have 176 hours in each week. We can redeem the time in several ways:

-         tithe your time

-         live by a schedule

-         invest your time for eternity (souls, family)

-         devout yourself to eternal pursuits (prayer and Bible)

We must redeem the time for the days are evil.

(Quebec: 2 year suspended sentence for starving a two month old to death)

We redeem the time for the sake of the lost.
